Matisse Restaurant and Belmar Arts Council Team Up for Restaurant Week April 16-25
Join us at Matisse for art and artful dining!
We are local artists who work primarily in acrylic paint in the abstract expressionist style of vibrant color and engaging forms. As well as being painters who exhibit and sell in the Monmouth County area, we are teachers and public speakers whose work is included in private and corporate collections. We are founding members of the BAC Sunday Abstract Painters. You can see our work in the colorful panels which welcome visitors to the Belmar Train Station and at Matisse during Restaurant week.
As well, our paintings have been judged worth of inclusion in the State-wide, highly competitive art show on display for the month of April at (BAC address).
A little bit about us as individuals:
Jean Larson paints in a variety of styles. She is inspired by the people she meets and the places she visits both at home and abroad, expressing the joy of going beyond traditional rules. Like life, her art is all about the journey.
Kathryn Paul might be called an abstract plein air painter. Her admiration for Georgia O’Keeffe and her love of sailing have influenced a body of work whose subjects extend from the American Southwest to the Atlantic Ocean.
Susan McLean began as a realistic watercolorist and has moved on to experimental forms. She spreads the gospel of abstract painting through classes and public speaking and loves it when characters pop into her abstract art.
We invite you to take a leisurely look at our paintings. Each one tells a story, but the story may be interpreted by you, the viewer, in whatever way brings you pleasure.
